WildRoots Plus is an expanded learning pathway that combines outdoor field study experiences with high-quality extracurricular classes, offering families a well-rounded, flexible educational option. This program is ideal for families who want meaningful learning beyond core academics while maintaining structure, choice, and consistency.
What's Included Each Semester
Students enrolled in WildRoots Plus receive:
1 day per week of WildRoots Field Study
3 extracurricular class sections of your choice per semester
WildRoots Field Study
WildRoots serves as a weekly field study extension of Smart Diehl Academy and includes:
Nature-based thematic units
Outdoor education and environmental exploration
Field studies, movement, and sports
Mindfulness and social-emotional learning (SEL)
Collaborative, inquiry-driven experiences
WildRoots qualifies for Opportunity Scholarship funds.
Extracurricular Class Options
In addition to WildRoots, families select three extracurricular class sections per semester from our rotating offerings.
Extracurricular classes may include (offerings vary by semester and location):
Art and creative studios
Creative labs and hands-on exploration
Science and Social Studies
Literacy-based classes
Money and financial literacy
Music, Spanish, and more
Classes are chosen based on the student's age range, with opportunities to:

Mix and match extracurricular classes
