MEET MS. ALLY

I’m a lifelong learner with a passion for helping others build confidence in subjects that often feel intimidating—especially high-level math!  I’m passionate about creating a learning environment where students feel empowered and understood, while finding creative, personalized ways to support each learner’s unique needs.

I hold a degree in Mathematics and Japanese from UNC Chapel Hill, and I have tutored students of all ages—from pre-K through college—for over a decade. In addition to private tutoring, I previously taught English as a foreign language at an after-school in Japan. My interest in Japanese has spanned many years, and I am always happy to share that love of culture and language with others. I currently speak Japanese at an advanced level and continue studying toward full fluency.

When I’m not tutoring, you’ll find me planning adventures as a travel agent or helping children find something to read at the Union County Public Library. I also enjoy trying out new crafts, experimenting on my nails, getting caught up in a good game or book, and playing with my two dogs. I am a very open person, so feel free to ask me anything!

Fun Facts

I have a Japanese driver's license and owned a car in Japan! I also used to study astrophysics and love to talk about space!
